Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is among the most awaited releases of the year. Helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film is the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer and is scheduled to hit theatres this Dussehra. While the makers dropped the teaser a few weeks ago, the latest promo has now offered fans a closer look at the characters and their appearances in the film.
Jailer 2 star cast
Jailer 2 has a prominent star cast and includes Shivarajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa, Vinayakan and Yogi Babu, who will reprise their roles from the previous film, along with Vidya Balan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Jatin Sarna and Mithun Chakraborty. Rajinikanth will be seen reprising his role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian.
The film will also mark a special appearance by Hrithik Roshan. Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan was in talks to make a special cameo, but he had to step back because of scheduling conflicts with King.
Suraj Venjaramoodu is Dileep in Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2
The makers have now introduced the first character in Jailer 2 with a special post, writing, “Introducing Suraj Venjaramoodu as Dileep from the world of #Jailer2 🔥.”

Suraj Venjaramoodu is seen smoking a cigar in the video as he steps out of the car. He is seen sporting an intense look. The makers are expected to share more character posters in the coming days.
Who is Suraj Venjaramoodu?
Suraj is a popular Malayalam actor who has featured in over 250 films and won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Comedian three times. In 2013, Suraj was conferred the National Film Award for Best Actor for his lead role in Perariyathavar. He also appeared in the Malayalam film Mohiniyaattam this year. His most recent appearances were in Tamil films, Youth and Kara, following the 2025 film Veera Dheera Sooran.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 was officially announced in January 2025. Filming began in March 2025 in Chennai and wrapped in April 2026. The film has been in post-production for over a year.
