Jana Nayagan: Fans flock to Bengaluru as 6 am premiere shows sell out

The excitement surrounding Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is reaching fever pitch ahead of its release. While advance bookings in Tamil Nadu are yet to begin, Bengaluru has already opened ticket sales, with the coveted 6 am First Day First Show selling out within minutes. The film is also witnessing an overwhelming response in international markets.
Jana Nayagan to have 6 am shows in Bengaluru
Advance bookings have quietly begun in Bengaluru, while Tamil Nadu’s market is yet to open. Interestingly, Bengaluru has allotted 6:00 am shows so far, and fans are rushing to book those early slots. As per reports by NDTV, the highly coveted 6:00 am First Day First Show slots sold out within minutes, proving that the craze for Vijay transcends state borders. Fans are planning to travel to Bengaluru and other nearby towns to catch the earliest screening possible.
With a planned footprint of 7,000–8,000 screens, Jana Nayagan joins the elite league of India’s biggest releases, Sacnilk reports.
In contrast, theatres in Tamil Nadu are expected to start shows later in the morning, with reports suggesting that the first screenings could begin around 9 am, following the state’s usual release pattern. Advance bookings there will begin on July 19.
Jana Nayagan overseas market
Vijay’s film has generated massive craze internationally as well. While Canada will offer VIP members early access to advance bookings, the UK distributor says thousands of tickets were sold within the first hour of bookings opening.
A major draw for the UK audience is the confirmation that the film will be screened completely uncut. In India, the Central Board of Film Certification finally gave the film the green signal after months of delay, passing it with an ‘A’ certificate. The board cleared the film after directing 12 cuts, including edits to political references and sensitive scenes, ahead of its July 23 release.
In addition to the changes, Vijay’s name in the title slate of Jana Nayagan has been changed to ‘The Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu C. Joseph Vijay’.
Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan marks Vijay’s final film as an actor and was originally planned as his farewell to fans ahead of the elections. The film features a star-studded ensemble including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju, with music by Anirudh Ravichander.
