Days after flaunting her baby bump, actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has officially confirmed that she is expecting her first child with husband Raj Nidimoru. She confirmed the news on Wednesday, June 24 at the success meet of her latest film, Maa Inti Bangaaram.

Speaking to the media and fans at the event, Samantha confirmed her pregnancy and also revealed that she is planning to step away from work for a brief period after the completion of her current commitments.
“Sorry, guys, one more small gap and then I’ll be back,” she blushed and told her fans. She then went on to add, “But actually, I know I have to take maternity leave now, but I’m very, very happy.” The fans and media gathered at the event erupted in loud cheers as they congratulated her, pointing out that she hadn’t officially confirmed it yet.

In the video, her husband Raj Nidimoru can also be seen smiling as he sat beside Samantha on stage at the event.
Her confirmation comes after social media users speculated about a possible pregnancy after videos and photographs from the film’s success celebrations went viral.

The rumours of Prabhu’s pregnancy began earlier on June 20, when a video from the celebration of her latest film, Maa Inti Bangaaram, surfaced online. In the videos that went viral online, she was seen with husband Raj Nidimoru wearing a fitted white t-shirt and blue jeans. Netizens noticed what appeared to be a baby bump.
Sources close to the actor later confirmed the development. Sourcer informed mid-day that the actress was expecting her first child and is due by the end of the year. This means Samantha and Raj will be embracing parenthood by December 2026, a year after their marriage in December 2025.
Samantha tied the knot with filmmaker Raj Nidimoru in December 2025 in a private ceremony held at the Linga Bhairavi Temple within the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore. The couple met while working together on The Family Man 2, where Samantha played the role of Raji. Their professional association continued with Citadel: Honey Bunny in 2024.
