The English version of Yash’s starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is all set to release in theatres on September 4 in the country. The makers recently announced that the English cut will have a runtime of 2 hours and 57 minutes, indicating that it will be 17 minutes shorter than the Indian-language cut. Notably, the English version, which was written and shot in one of the film’s languages, was released overseas on August 26.

Sharing the update on X on September 3, the makers wrote, “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, in English – one of the languages the film was written and shot in. A shorter cut from the Indian language version. In cinemas from September 4, 2026.”

As per the CBFC website, the Kannada version of the gangster drama was certified on August 13 with a runtime of 194.12 minutes, that is 3 hours 14 minutes. Subsequently, the English version was certified on September 1 with a runtime of 176.52 minutes, that is 2 hours 56 minutes. This indicates that the English cut is approximately 17 minutes shorter than the version released in India.
Notably, the English version was released overseas on the same day as the Kannada one, on August 26. However, it is unknown why the makers chose to delay the release in the country.
The announcement has sparked curiosity among viewers about what has been cut from the English-language version.
