Nani’s The Paradise has finally arrived on the streaming service with certain changes. The Telugu action drama, helmed by Srikanth Odela, is now available on Netflix, but in a shorter version. These changes come after the film faced underwhelming reviews following its theatrical release. While the action and scale had an impact, viewers were disappointed with the film’s exaggerated violence, lengthy second half and certain creative decisions. The Netflix version appears to have made revisions to certain portions of the film following the response it garnered.
What changes did The Paradise undergo on OTT?
The film’s OTT version has a runtime of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, shorter than the original theatrical cut, which ran for 2 hours and 54 minutes. One of the most notable changes is the removal of a dance sequence featuring Sonali Kulkarni’s character, Dhumavathi. In the theatrical version, the sequence appeared amid a fight scene and soon became a talking point online, with viewers turning it into a meme. The scene also drew considerable criticism, as many questioned the inclusion of a dance number during an action sequence.
The Netflix version reportedly features enhanced visual effects in certain sequences, addressing criticism surrounding some shots in the theatrical release. The end credits have also been slowed down following complaints from viewers that they moved too quickly to read in cinemas. The revised version allows audiences more time to go through the names.
Netflix India updated the revised release on X, formerly Twitter, with the post: “This Paradise is under construction & revolution”
