Shruhad Goswami in ‘Laalo’
Just in time for Janmashtami, the Telugu remake of Gujarati sleeper hit ‘Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate’is reportedly seeing a casting development, with Vijay Deverakonda set to play Lord Krishna. Earlier reports had suggested that Ram Charan was being considered for the role. We have learnt that the project is in pre-production stage. It is being backed by Dil Raju. The original Gujarati flick, starring Shruhad Goswami, became a R100-crore-plus blockbuster despite its modest budget. It was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 50 lakh.

Karan Johar
While there is a Telugu remake of Laalo in the making, there are reports suggesting that Karan Johar is also exploring the world of Krishna on the big screen. According to Bollywood Hungama, Karan, under Dharma Productions, is developing a tentpole epic centred on the divine love story of Radha and Krishna, with Avane Srimannarayana (2019) director Sachin Ravi writing and helming it. The makers are targeting the 2027–2028 slate, with casting details still under wraps.
