Toxic: Nayanthara reveals what made her break her 'no promotions' appraoch

The grand trailer launch of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, held in Bengaluru, brought the entire cast of the film under one roof. Yash, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and even Nayanthara, who is known to stay away from promotional events, were present as they unveiled the trailer to the world. While speaking at the event, Nayanthara opened up about the reason she decided to attend the event in person for Toxic and for Yash. She also revealed how director Geetu Mohandas changed her mind about not working in multi-starrers.
Nayanthara breaks silence on her no promotions approach
As the Toxic trailer was released in Bengaluru, Nayanthara was asked why she does not attend many promotional events. To this, the actress replied, “It’s not that I don’t want to attend promotional events, it’s just that I’m not very good at it. So I stay away from it. But this was special [for] so many reasons, but I think it’s just Yash. He just made a call and it was enough for me to just attend the event. And also it is very special because of the kind of vision these people have.”

She went on to add that she had worked with a lot of superstars and actors, but Yash was different. “Everyone’s big, everyone’s cool. They are really good. That’s why they are superstars. But with Yash, when I met him the first time, the kind of larger-than-life image that he actually has, that’s how he really is in person also,” Nayanthara said, while also heaping praises on her Toxic co-stars Rukmini, Tara, Kiara, Huma, and Akshay Oberoi.
Nayanthara initially rejected Toxic
Notably, Nayanthara plays Yash’s sister Ganga in the gangster thriller. During the event, Nayanthara also revealed that she had to be convinced to act in Toxic. She recalled, “When she called me for this film, I wasn’t sure, I said, ‘No, I don’t think I want to do the film.’ So she asked me some 10 million questions so I said okay, it’s fine. You can come and narrate it to me. And from the time she narrated it to me, I was like who is this woman? Who is this director that we have not seen? You are going to witness something incredible.”
